Smoking Behind the Supermarket with You Chapter 29

Sasaki endures a long, exhausting day at work and accidentally falls asleep on the train, waking up only when it reaches the final stop. The following day, Sasaki visits the supermarket where Yamada hands him a special coupon celebrating his birthday. Later behind the store, Sasaki shares a smoke break with Tayama and mentions turning forty-six on February twenty-fifth. Tayama reveals that her birthday is also this month, on the twenty-fourth, and they exchange small birthday gifts of cigarettes. The chapter ends with Sasaki on the train ride home, smiling as he looks at his new pack of cigarettes and fondly thinks of Yamada, while train staff once again have to wake him up at the final stop.
