Smoking Behind the Supermarket with You Chapter 25

Supermarket cashiers gather for drinks after work, sharing gossip about regular customers including Sasaki, whom they fondly refer to as number twenty-eight. The conversation shifts to a misunderstanding when one coworker mentions seeing Sasaki shopping with a woman while wearing a ring, leading Miss Tayama to believe he is married. Concerned about boundaries and missing their recent interactions, Sasaki rushes to find Miss Tayama and clear the air. He apologizes for being inappropriate and clarifies that he is completely single, explaining that the ring holds personal significance. Miss Tayama bursts into laughter upon realizing the confusion, clearing up the gossip among the supermarket staff.
